Mid North Coast Innovation Forums

Regional Development Australia Mid North Coast (RDAMNC) this week hosted the Mid North Coast (MNC) Innovation Forum at breakfast events held in Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour.
The forums allowed attendees to share their insights and provide input into the areas that need strengthening within the MNC.
Attending the event were representatives from the many industries and organisations that are based within our region, including healthcare, manufacturing, education, local council and digital technology.
“Rather than businesses operating in silos these forums aim to encourage collaboration with a focus on regional solutions that will benefit all involved” said Russell Pell, Innovation and Media Manager, RDAMNC.
“Hearing from those at the coal face is informative and insightful, it was great to see conversations occurring between the attendees about the common issues that they are facing.”
Several local companies shared positive stories of pipelines of work that will help to support them for several years, whilst others have emerged from Covid with new focus, creating different products or pursuing new markets.
Finding suitable staff and retaining them was one of the many issues raised in the discussions. This was highlighted as a significant problem for specialised roles that require unique training.
RDAMNC will be including intel gathered at the events in their Regional Plan which will be released later this year.
Thanks to all those that attended we appreciate the insights and input that you shared with us.
