Introducing – Stuart Smith – Pathways Officer

RDAMNC would like to introduce our new Pathways Officer – Stuart Smith

Stuart obtained his PhD from Macquarie University in 2000 and has since worked in research organisations and universities in the United States (NASA), the Republic of Ireland (Trinity College Dublin) and Australia (e.g. Neuroscience Research Australia, Southern Cross University). Most recently he was the Director of Research for the Global Centre for Modern Ageing.

As an academic Stuart took an industry-facing approach and has been committed to ensuring research is translated into ‘real world’ applications. He has developed a number of innovative digital solutions for provision of health, aged and disability service provision and is an advocate for the development of knowledge economy-based industries in regional Australia.

Stuart and his family have been members of the mid coast communities for over a decade and brings to the Pathways Officer role his enthusiasm and commitment to social and economic development of the region.

As part of his role Stuart will be connecting with local employers to introduce RDAMNC’s recently launched employment platform – My Future Workforce.
