Deputy Chair and Committee Members

These positions provide input into strategic direction setting, contribute to reviewing progress in achieving objectives and outcomes and oversee the effectiveness of governance processes within the Committee. Like the Chair, they also have a hands-on, active role in facilitating economic development opportunities. RDA Committee Deputy Chairs and members are appointed by the Chair. For Deputy Chair appointments, the Chair must obtain agreement from the minister with responsibility for regional development and state, territory and local government counterparts where appropriate.

Applicants for Chair, Deputy Chair and Committee Member positions will generally be regional leaders with vision, drive and business experience who are able to facilitate economic development opportunities and investment for regional communities and create jobs and growth.

RDA Chairs, Deputy Chairs and Committee members are expected to have high standards of conduct and ethics in applying the principles and practices of corporate governance. Appointees to Committees will be required to comply with the requirements of the Funding Agreement with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (the department) and the RDA Better Practice Guide, which includes the RDA Code of Conduct and Ethics.

RDA Mid North Coast Requirements : Deputy Chair and Committee Members

  • Attend 6 x general meetings per year, held bi-monthly, approx 4hrs each.
  • Meetings located in a central location within the MNC region.
  • Attend regional functions, meetings and events to advocate for RDAMNC and broader regional priorities.
